On Sunday, May 10, 2026, Hrvatska škola Kardinal Stepinac celebrated Mother’s Day, our big end-of-year celebration, with Holy Mass, lunch and our Mother’s Day program in the St. Jerome parish hall.
Our students, dressed in a colorful variety of Croatian folk costumes, filled the hall while their families looked on. Each class performed a short play, and the program also featured tamburica music and dancing. Our youngest students won every heart with their hand-drawn posters of hearts, flowers and rainbows, and with big letters spelling out MAMA. To close the program, all our students sang “Lijepa si, lijepa” together.
The program also included a special moment: our 8th graders received their diplomas in front of the St. Jerome parish banner, celebrating their graduation from Hrvatska škola Kardinal Stepinac.
Together with our Christmas program, Mother’s Day is one of the two main occasions when our children show how well they can speak and sing in Croatian, and how much they have learned during the year.
To all our mothers: thank you for your love and for everything you do for our children and our school. Thank you also to our teachers, to everyone who helped set up the hall, and to our students for all their hard work. Sretan Majčin dan i hvala svima!
