On Sunday, May 17, 2026, Klub Stepinac took the stage at FirstOntario Concert Hall in Hamilton, Ontario, at the 52nd Canadian-Croatian Folklore Festival. Our dancers performed “Plesovi i pjesme Slavonije,” the songs and dances of Slavonia, as the fourth of eight groups in Sunday’s festival concert.

This year’s festival was hosted by Folklorni ansambl Hrvatsko Selo Hamilton, which was celebrating its own 50th anniversary. From May 15 to 17, folklore groups from across Canada and the United States gathered in Hamilton for two festival concerts, Holy Mass and plenty of kolo.

Our journey began on Friday evening, when about 30 performers, parents and chaperones boarded the bus at St. Jerome for the drive to Ontario. On Sunday morning, before the concert, the group attended Holy Mass at Holy Cross Croatian Church in Hamilton.

The Canadian-Croatian Folklore Festival is one of the highlights of the Klub Stepinac year: a chance to share our traditions on a big stage and to see friends from Croatian communities across North America.

Thank you to our performers for all their hard work at rehearsals, to our instructors, to the musicians who traveled with us to accompany the group, to the parents and chaperones on the bus, and to Hrvatsko Selo Hamilton for a wonderful festival. Hvala!
